It’s been a while since I had a leisurely weekend for myself, so I drove out in VENUE to the Han River. In sweltering heat of these days, it’s best to work out during morning or evening. I got ready for a solo work out before the heat wave of the city hit me.
The endless transformation of small size SUV is great for those who have many things to carry around. In SUV that is neither too small nor too big, you can fit in a big bicycle as well as sneakers and training attire all at once. It will make get rid of the hassle of preparing for a workout and clear your mind from worries.
Stretching before work out. It’s essential that you make yourself flexible to prepare your body against sudden shocks. And this goes for cars as well, in a peculiar way. These days cars are generally equipped with functions that prevent crash from front and back as well as safety devices for passengers, as unexpected crash can happen anytime.
There aren’t that many SUVs where you can carry your bicycle around. And to go for that option, I would have to opt for a large car, which would be too big for me. But VENUE makes this possible despite not being a large vehicle. If you take out the front wheel of the bicycle and fold the back seat, you can get the bicycle inside the car without difficulty. Thanks to the 2-tier luggage board, you can also put in various sports equipment and more.
Running and riding leads you to unexpected moments in unfamiliar places. The cool breeze that meets my face, smell of grass, flashy city night lights. These scenes are refreshing stimulations of everyday life.
What attracts me about running alone is experiencing infinite freedom. You don’t have to be considerate of others nor ask for yield; you can just run when you want to and rest when you want to. I like how I can be free to do whatever.
Running and riding through the whole morning led to midday already. It’s the hottest hour in the city, and you can feel the heat all over. It’s time to take a break. Have a light meal and quench the extreme thirst with a gulp of cold water.
Listening to music that fits my taste while enjoying the cool air-conditioned breeze is one of the best ways to spend time alone. I check up on the other running crews’ daily lives through SNS, and sometimes meet new crews on it, sharing information with people with the same hobby. We all grow together with the same goal.
I acquired a happy habit since riding VENUE, which is parking VENUE and admiring the fantastic city night view after a workout. The night view of a city after the afternoon heat has cooled down is something for everyone, but on the other hand, it’s a private joy that I never want to share with anyone. Whenever I spend time by myself, I anticipate the upcoming everyday solo life. I wonder what awaits me tomorrow.
