An eccentric playground in Hyundai Engineering & Construction’s Hillstate
What would be the one thing you have to keep in mind when creating a children’s playground? It’s that it has to be built from the children’s perspective. For children, playground is a very important space. It’s where you socialize with your peers and develop your imagination through mutual stimulation. Hyundai Engineering & Construction’s Hillstate is creating playgrounds that are built from the children’s perspective. Not only do they develop imagination skills, but they also contribute to traffic safety training. An eco-friendly playground that is also thinking of the children’s health is soon to open as well. Let’s find out where they all are.
H Blue Playground in Hillstate Woonjeong
H Blue Playground was designed in consideration of children’s creative plays and games
H Blue Playground is a blue wave shaped children’s playground with various types of play mounding and net form free wave rides. As existing playgrounds that have many standardized rides may deter children’s creative games, this place was created so that the big and small mounding and free form nets would induce children’s active lay.
Net form rides were designed for children’s free and creative activities
Net form rides make the use of different pipe heights for greater variety in games and development of physique in children of many age groups. Games can be more varied with the different sized pipes while rides and the floor are colored in blue to stimulate children’s curiosity and induce interest. These factors were widely recognized, and thus the H Blue Playground won the Minister’s Award in Korea’s Good Design Awards and the ‘Winner’ award in the international Asia Design Prize.
Wavy Mountain Travel in Hillstate Dangjin 2
Wavy mountain travel playground was designed to allow children to naturally take in traffic safety knowledge
Wavy mountain travel is a playground created with various slopes and complex topography, so that the children can utilize them for climbing and riding slides. Children will learn a sense of adventure and accomplishment through climbing the four sides of the mountain
There are also facilities where the children can acquire traffic safety information. Rotating panels are utilized to learn different types of traffic signs, and children can also make their own traffic lights to learn the difference between green light and red light, as well as make great use of traffic information panels that inform them of bus and bicycle roads. They will be able to have fun and take in traffic information at the same time.
Roe Deers living in Hillstate forest, in Hillstate Cheonggye
This playground was created with a roe deer motif
What do grownups do when children play in the playground? Most times they stand behind the children, looking worried, or feel bored. Roe deers living in Hillstate Forest is a space for the grownups, too. It’s consisted of the tea house relaxation facility and play rides. There are rides for different age groups and a tea house where the grownups can watch the children play.
Nature themed rides stimulate children’s imagination
This is an interesting ride that took a roe deer in the forest as a motif with long wavy lines. The roe deer shaped slides, pine tree panels, tree shaped seesaw and many other rides will allow children to imagine having fun with wild roe deers in a forest.
Geoje Tour Bus in Hillstate Geoje
A playground made with a city tour bus form as Geoje is a well-known tourist city
Geoje tour bus playground really reflects the regional trait. It makes the use of the city tour bus concept to naturally introduce Geoje’s landmarks to the children. It’s designed to let children imagine purchasing the tour ticket from the ticket office and exploring the yellow windmill windy hill, Dongbaek island where camellia flowers bloom, and Mongdol beach which is the pebble beach.
Children of different ages can enjoy the rides here
The upper and lower parts of the playground were designed in consideration of different age groups. In the lower part, there is a space where children and grown-ups can learn about traffic safety through traffic safety quiz, information of traffic accident report number, etc., whereas the upper part has many facilities for a more active playing to develop children’s physical capacity.
H i_forest, free from micro dust
H i_forest is an indoor playground where you don’t have to worry about the micro dust
H i_forest is an indoor playground where children can have lots of fun without worrying about micro dust. It will be applied to the community space in DH and Hillstate which are scheduled to sold in the second half of the year. Hyundai Engineering & Construction’s logo type yellow and green derive from the motif of ‘sprouts growing into thick greenery’ to symbolize the thought of children growing with and parents also growing themselves as they watch their children grow up. The concept is about a place where we dream of the precious story ‘we can exist only if the forest is there.’
Indoor facilities can be utilized to do outdoor activities such as tree climbing, etc
You can do many outdoor activities indoors such as climbing trees, rolling down the hill, playing peek-a-boo between rocks, etc., with the many rides that are to be installed here. There will also be a space for the parents who can spend time here as well. Spaces for them to read books with the children, where they can hang out while watching their kids play, etc., will be created so that it will be a family lounge type of a space for all.
These days, children’s playground is evolving into a place for not just children but also for their parents, too. We hope such special playgrounds where children do creative activities, develop their imagination freely and have positive mutual interactions will be created in more Hyundai Engineering & Construction communities in the near future.
