Time is running out for future mobility. Let’s figure out technologies from Hyundai Mobis that will be used in intelligent and connected vehicles of the future.
How would cars of future look like in the Smart City, which was the main theme for 2018 CES? Let's take a look at technologies from Hyundai Mobis that will be used in intelligent and connected vehicles of the future.
V2X(Vehicle to Everything)
V2X is technologies for communicating and sharing information needed for self-driving. It is the general term for a wireless communication between vehicle to vehicle (V2V), vehicle to infrastructure (V2I), In-vehicle networking (IVN), and vehicle to pedestrian (V2P). V2X allows communication between not only cars but also between cars and infrastructure to enable much more accurate recognition of the vehicle’s surrounding.
DDREM(Departed Driver Rescue & Exit Maneuver)
DDREM is the driver warning system judges driver's condition and monitors the movement of the vehicle. If the car drifts out of the lane, the DAW(Driver Awareness Warning) system sends out warning signal to the driver and vehicle's biosensor analyzes blinking of the driver in order to check driver condition. When autonomous driving technology reaches Level 4, the self-driving car is expected to drive by itself.
V2G(Vehicle to Grid)
V2G is technology to charge the vehicle through the power grid and return the remaining energy back to the grid after driving. In the smart cities of the future, where large number of electric vehicles need to recharge spontaneously, V2G is necessary technology. Using this technology, you can connect electric vehicle to a cable in your parking lot and channel the electricity to your household.
e-Corner Module(Electronic corner Module)
e-Corner Module is a system, unlike vehicle internal combustion, which does not need mechanical parts for driving such as drive shafts. It is a module that combines functions for driving, steering, braking and suspension and one that improve wheel's responsiveness, driving stability, and increase efficiency. e-Corner module also means that there is more room for design ingenuity as space for engine and powertrain is not used anymore.
