How connected cars changing your life?
Connected cars are now readily available and their many exciting features, including nextgeneration infotainment systems, are changing how we use and interact with our cars.
Seamless Connected with a seamless wireless network
Connected car, it contains so many technologies and services
It is difficult to understand fully what a ‘connected car’ actually is just by reading these two words, especially as it contains so many technologies and services. Moreover, what really matters is how it is connected and by what methods. First, connected cars are linked to a wireless network. Incorporated with IT, more and more cars are evolving into connected cars which can access a vast network anytime, anywhere. In the early days, the connected car was synonymous with ‘telematics’ which is a compound word made from telecommunication and informatics. In the early days, telematics service was largely limited to the emergency phone communication device installed in cars. Today, connected cars offer a long list of advanced functions such as; remote start, climate control, parking location indicator, airbag deployment alert, theft tracking, diagnostics and maintenance alert, weather, sports news and restaurant recommendations.
Intelligent Creating optimized intelligent service
A number of connected services have already been developed and implemented, such as activation of air recirculation and window closure before entering a tunnel
The ultimate goal of today’s connected car is providing a variety of infotainment while at the same time preparing for an autonomous future. The systems are constantly evolving for maximum convenience and efficiency. Cloud servers analyze and update information about driver’s favorite radio stations, music, and frequently used roads and areas (e.g. popular restaurants) so it can all be used to provide an excellent service. The aptly named ‘Userfriendly Personalization Service’, which detects the position and preference of the driver and creates the optimal driving environment, is growing rapidly with the advent of the connected car.
HMG has been developing technologies to accelerate the era of the connected car. A number of connected services have already been developed and implemented, such as automated speed control linked to the location of speed cameras, activation of air recirculation and window closure before entering a tunnel, and vehicle management using GPS. A wide variety of new connected car services will be created as more information is collected through the vehicle network.
Enriched Tapping into unlimited potential
In the near future, our cars will be connected to many more things
Connected cars open up vast new possibilities. While modern automobiles are already highly sophisticated products only made possible through advanced manufacturing technologies, connected cars go much further blurring the traditional boundaries between industries. They require platforms and infrastructures that can read the surrounding environment as well as collect and utilize data. It naturally invites companies from various fields such as manufacturing to service, to IT and even to financial companies, to invest heavily.
In the near future, our cars will be connected to many more things including other cars, home lighting, boilers, traffic lights and buildings, city traffic management systems, and content providers. We predict that everyone will be able to enjoy completely different cars and the way we interact with them in just a few years. Ultimately, the connected car will completely change how valuable cars are to us.
