An airport is a very special place for many. This is because the place is for tons of meeting and parting. An airport is also a place full of excitement for travel. The airport is the place where you stay for a while before leaving for an unfamiliar place, full of expectations.
The COVID 19 pandemic has made us less frequently go to the airport. Still, you can just visit there without needing to depart or pick up someone you know. Driving to the airport can bring back the excitement and pleasure of a trip we had forgotten. It can be a terrific driving course for getting away from our daily life and bringing back joyful memories. Here we go to the airport with Kia Seltos.
Incheon International Airport, the gateway of Korea, is located in Yeongjongdo, Incheon. It's quite far from downtown Seoul. Therefore, to get to Yeongjongdo, you must use the Incheon International Airport Expressway (Yeongjong Bridge) and the 2nd Gyeongin Expressway (Incheon Bridge) that leads to Songdo. There is not much traffic on both highways because only the vehicles heading to the airport come and go. That's why they are famous for being comfortable and safe.
On these highways, Highway Driving Assist (HDA) definitely stands out. After activating the smart cruise system in accordance with the speed limit, Seltos starts operating the highway driving assistance system that runs on its own according to the speed and distance set by the driver. You don't have to worry about accelerating too far because it automatically adjusts the driving speed using the highway information in the navigation. After about an hour, relaxing and enjoying the scenery through the windows, we arrived at the destination, Incheon International Airport.
Incheon International Airport is not the only airport on Yeongjong Island. This is also the reason we visited Yeongjongdo Island with Seltos today. The current Yeongjongdo is created after combining the four islands (Yeongjongdo, Sinbuldo, Sammokdo, and Yongyudo) together. If you look around along the well-polished roads of Yeongjongdo Island, you can easily enjoy the wonderful scenery of the blue ocean.
The beautiful reed forest is one of the most noticeable things next to the sea in Yeongjongdo Island. Reed is a highly self-sustaining plant even in salty soils, and it also purifies water. You can easily find it along the river or the shores. In the widespread reed forest of Yeongjongdo Island, the trip of reminiscence begins to unfold.
Yeongjongdo is about 60 km away from downtown Seoul. The best part is that you can reach the shore in only one or two hours from anywhere in the metropolitan area. There are Eulwangri Beach, Wangsan Beach, and Seonnyeobawi Beach on Yeongjongdo Island, and it is also famous for the fine quality of the sand. Speaking of Wangsan Beach that the Seltos visited this time, the rich pine forest not only makes the scenery excellent, but also a good place for auto camping and a yacht dock. Many people enjoy the place for various reasons.
The air quality inside Seltos is pleasant even for a long-distance journey. This is because Seltos offers an air cleaning mode that blocks air pollutants from outside and purifies the air inside the car. Pressing the button with a forest icon on the climate controller turns the air cleaning function on or off. Of course, it is sometimes better to open the windows to ventilate the cabin with the fresh breeze of Yeongjong Island. Fresh air indeed helps comfort and pleasant driving.
If you want to escape from your daily life, try heading to the airport. It doesn't have to be Yeongjong Island. Driving to the airport itself will bring back the memory of the excitement and joy of traveling. Beautiful scenery on the way might also become another memory. Normal life feels more precious nowadays - and driving to the airport will freshen you up in no time.
