There are a lot of technologies that need to be developed as well as self-driving cars in the era of self-driving.
In an autonomous future, how well it interacts with humans will be an important factor in both vehicle design and technology. Many technologies will be developed with a focus on driver convenience and safety. Experts expect these technologies to be deployed more broadly as well. HMG’s Autonomous Driving technology is evolving to respond to growing new needs.
In the era of self-driving, new hardware emerges and road traffic information is systematized..
Self-driving cars require state-of-the-art road infrastructure.
#1. HD Map
Drone for HD Map Deployment
Many factors including road infrastructure, vehicle to vehicle communication, sensor performance and cost reduction will play a part in making autonomous cars commercially viable. The need for high-precision maps has become increasingly important as it can compensate for the technical limitations of sensors, improving safety. In 2016, Hyundai Mnsoft began to explore using drones for map creation in order to compensate for the limitations of the Mobile Mapping System which is the dominant tool in the creation of high-definition (HD) maps. The development of a custom drone that meets aviation laws and hardware and software requirements has been recently completed. Designed for HD mapping, the drone is used to create maps of roads such as roads under construction and new roads which are not yet open, that cannot be mapped using MMS. The HD maps created using drone images have the same low margin of errors as HD maps created using MMS.
#2. Real-time Emotion Adaptive Driving, R.E.A.D.
Real-time Emotion Adaptive Driving System, R.E.A.D.
Introduced by Kia Motors at the 2019 CES, the Real-time Emotion Adaptive Driving System (R.E.A.D. System) is a core technology concept for the Emotive Driving age, a term which refers to the time after Autonomous Driving has become universal. In short, it is a system built on innovative technology that helps the automobile interact with the driver. The A.I. machine learning algorithm, which serves as the basis of the R.E.A.D. System, collects information about the surrounding environment such as noise and vibration and also biometric information and emotion about the drivers. The system uses the information and adjusts the cabin environment such as music, temperature, lighting, vibration and aroma for the driver. The R.E.A.D. System is created by combining cuttingedge vehicle control technology and AI-based emotional intelligence technology. It is a core technology for future mobility where interaction between the driver and cabin environment will become increasingly important.
