Here are our recommendations on where to go with your kids in May, the family month
It’s May, the perfect month to spend with your family. Have you planned your picnics? Some of you may have already been out together with your family or have already made plans. On the other hand, there must be some people who have not yet made any plans, scared to face the upcoming weekends. So here we have a list of great places to visit with your kids. Have a look through them and see if you find any of them suitable for your family month weekend outings.
Learn your traffic safety rules and also have fun at the Hyundai Motor Company Poli Traffic Safety Playground

Hyundai Motor Company Poli Traffic Safety Playground is a children’s traffic safety experience center which opened May 2017. It’s a permanent establishment free for all, decorated with popular cartoon characters from the show ‘Robocar Poli’ and consisted of spaces for traffic safety training and playground. There are 7 experience rooms that allow 10 traffic safety experience training for themes including crosswalk, traffic sign, getting on and off the bus, safety belt, blind spot, bicycle safety, construction site safety, weather safety, and tunnel safety.
If you want to go out further, there is ‘Hyundai Motor Company Traffic Safety Class’ which will be held for four days from June 26th Wednesday through June 29th Saturday at the Olympic Park Ice Arena in Gangneung. It started in 2013 and has been carried out continuously to improve children’s traffic safety awareness and prevent accidents all around the country. Various experiences and training are provided here for children’s safety.

What will our kids want to grow up to be? “Korea JobWorld” Occupation Experience Center

Are you concerned about your child who changes his/her future dream 12 times a day? Then we recommend “Korea JobWorld” Occupation Experience Center! Korea JobWorld is a public institute under the Ministry of Employment and Labor, the biggest general occupation experience center in Korea that provides numerous opportunities to experience and seek different jobs to children and adolescents.
One can especially experience many types of jobs in the Children’s Experience Center, where they have set up an occupational village for children where they can experience different jobs through play. For the month of May, the center allows children to try out being a Youtube creator(a popular occupation these days) during May 18th (Sat) and 19th (Sun), under the title of ‘Children, he/she becomes ooo’. Star Youtubers Jeongbr and Ppujik will have autograph signings, and there will also be self-recording sessions as well.

Children’s hip place, P.I.M (Sebit Island Kids Cafe)

Children jumping in a huge ball pool with the backdrop of a huge glass window that shows the beautiful view of the river! Is it an exotic foreign city? Nope. It’s a kids cafe in the Hangang Sebit Island, P.I.M (Play In Museum). It’s a childcare space that has been going viral on SNS recently. It’s not just a kids cafe where kids run around, but it’s a place of motto of connecting various experiences and activities through play to learning.
The infinity ball pool, for which this place is famous, boasts a fantastic view of the Hangang River. There’s also more to this place than a ball pool. You can also do many activities on the second floor where there are exhibitions, blocks, drawing, etc. Learning experiences change every month, and their schedule can be checked on the P.I.M Instagram (@playinmuseum) page!

Beyond the infinite Earth! National Children’s Science Center

Space is always filled with things that stimulate children’s curiosity and imagination. If your children throw you questions like “What is a blackhole?”, “What does the space look like?”, “Who lives on other stars?”, it’s time for you to visit the National Children’s Science Center. The National Children’s Science Center opened in December 2017 and is Korea’s only children’s national science center.
Its motto is ‘science in play, play in science’. The center is consisted of 3 playgrounds where the kids can use tools to enjoy various activities, a planetarium, an astronomical observatory, a 4D theatre, an ecology greenhouse, etc. In May, the center will have ‘Fossil World & Dinosaur Friends’ event, where children can dig up hidden dinosaur bones and fossils and imagine what the Earth would have been like many years ago. If your kids love dinosaurs, you can’t miss this.
